Born in 1971 in Iran’s Northern province, Nazak spent her childhood in Tehran. Her father held a director position at a company, while her mother was a dedicated teacher. Growing up during the Islamic revolution and the Iran-Iraq war, she witnessed firsthand the tumultuous events unfolding in her country. Her father , Mr Siavash Tavakoli ,was executed in 1980 after one years imprisonment in the notorious prison of Evin. Coming from a family ,deeply involved in politics, she faced the harsh realities of the regime and was compelled to escape as a teenager in 1985. At the age of 15, she emigrated to Sweden, where she resided for a decade. During her time there, she pursued her dream of becoming a dental surgeon through dedicated study and hard work. In 1995, she decided to move to the UK, joining the National Health Service (NHS) ,to further her career. As a proud mother of twin girls, born in 2007, she finds joy in witnessing their enthusiasm for law and politics. Their curiosity and passion inspires her, and she supports their endeavors wholeheartedly. It is through their influence that she has become even more conscious of the importance of human rights and the need for change. Driven by a desire to make a difference, Dr Tavakoli, along with a group of esteemed colleagues, co-founded the Iranian Association of Human Rights and Allies. Currently consisting of approximately 200 members, the organization was established in response to the ongoing human rights violations in Iran starting in September 2022. Witnessing the brutal mistreatment of young girls, boys, and children during their peaceful protests for change, this group felt compelled to take action. Through their united efforts, they constantly strive to advocate for human rights, raise awareness, and support those affected by these violations. The association gives a helping hand to the asylum seekers , easing their way into the integration of the British society. By collaborating with other organizations and individuals who share the same mission, they hope to bring about positive change for the people of Iran and beyond. Their relentless pursuit of justice and equality serves as a testament to their unwavering commitment to human rights.
