Who we are

LionSunRevo is an independent media platform covering Iranian affairs, civic memory, and the struggle for a free, secular, democratic Iran. Because of the sensitive nature of our work, we treat reader privacy as a security matter, not just a legal one.

What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run the site: anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, approximate region, device type) gathered through Google Analytics, and any information you actively give us — for example when you submit a story or contact us.

We do not require accounts, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which articles are read, where readers come from in aggregate, and how the site performs. This involves cookies and similar technologies set by Google.

Analytics data is aggregated and statistical. We do not use it to identify individual readers, and we have configured it for analytics measurement only — not advertising. You can block analytics at any time with browser settings, content blockers, or Google’s own opt-out browser add-on.

No sharing with third parties

We want to be unambiguous: we do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any third party. Not with advertisers, not with data brokers, not with anyone.

The only data that leaves our infrastructure is the anonymous statistical traffic processed by Google Analytics as described above, which acts as our measurement processor. We would resist any improper demand for reader data to the fullest extent the law allows.

How we use information

We use the information we hold to operate and improve the site, respond when you contact us, publish contributions you ask us to publish, and protect the platform against abuse. Nothing else.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was given. Contributor identities can be kept private on request — private authors are displayed by initials only.

Data is stored on secured infrastructure with access limited to site administrators. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) across the entire site.
